SSI Scuba Rangers Program
SeaVentures’ SSI Scuba Rangers Program is designed for young divers, ages 8-12. This program includes three sessions consisting of classroom review and skills practice in SeaVentures' heated indoor pool. Rangers learn the same scuba skills as adults, but through fun, interactive games. During this course, students:
learn about dive equipment and assemble, break-down and care for their scuba gear
demonstrate basic snorkeling and scuba skills, including, mask and regulator clearing, air-sharing, regulator retrieval, and more
practice buddymanship, proper body positioning, trim and neutral buoyancy
perform basic surface rescue skills
learn basic physics and ecology related to diving.
Students earn Recognition Awards as they work their way through the five levels of our Scuba Ranger Development Program, and can achieve Intermediate, Advanced and Master Scuba Ranger status as they continue in our Ranger Specialty Classes. Try Scuba prerequisite is required so don't wait until the last minute to register!
SCUBA RANGER SPECIALTY CLASSES Once the Scuba Ranger Development Program is complete, Rangers continue their scuba training in our Scuba Ranger Specialty Classes to gain additional underwater experience, practice their scuba skills, and learn new skills to prepare for their Junior Open Water course. Our specialty classes include:
