FUN PHYSICS CAMPS (ages 5-12) Monday, January 21 Ages 5-9 - Force and motion in action! Join us for a day of testing the Laws of Motion as we build and test roller coaster and catapults, see how much weight a paper airplane can carry, and more. Ages 10-12 - Older kids work on more advanced physics challenges, and make cork-launching catapults, design cars for an egg-crashing contest and more.
FLIGHT SCHOOL (ages 10-12) Friday, February 15 Students work on their aerial skills as they pilot our drones, study aerodynamics with simple aircraft designs and launch paper rockets to investigate how forces influence flight trajectories. Location: Discover Science Center (suite 5) $75/day ($85 extended hours) REGISTER
MINECRAFT CAMP (ages 5-9) Monday, February 18 Whether your kids are Minecraft fans or not, we will have fun using a Minecraft theme to work on offline and online engineering, technology, math, and art projects. The kids will have a chance to teach each other some of their Minecraft secrets, and we have books they can use to research crafting recipes. Students are welcome to bring devices that have Minecraft uploaded, however, it is not required as we will not be playing Minecraft all day. Location: Discover Science Center (suite 5) $75/day ($85 extended hours) REGISTER
PHOTOGRAPHY 101 (ages 10-12) Monday, February 18 Photography is all about capturing light. We use properties of light from Physics that can help us become better photographers. Students learn fundamental Physics properties and camera basics of speed of light, electromagnetic spectrum, photons, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, as we operate and investigate different types of cameras. Students can bring their own DSLR camera, manual point and shoot camera, or smartphone with manual camera capability. Space is very limited. Location: Discover Science Center (suite 5) $75/day ($85 extended hours) REGISTER
FAIRIES AND FROGS (ages 5-9) Monday, March 11 Students design and create fairy and elf doors, learn about fairy friends, including grasshoppers, dragonflies and butterflies, and investigate the external anatomy of real frogs. Location: Discover Science Center (suite 5) $75/day ($85 extended hours) REGISTER
OUTER SPACE (ages 10-12) Friday, March 11 Students spend the day investigating the science of space as they learn to use our telescope to view solar activity, study light waves, and learn about and model celestial bodies. Location: Discover Science Center (suite 5) $75/day ($85 extended hours) REGISTER
