Sign your kids up for STEM Summer Camps at Atlanta Academy. Kids will learn about sharks and jellyfish, explore our solar system and launch rockets, investigate chemical reactions, and complete engineering challenges. Our STEM Camps are enhanced with art and creativity projects to help kids integrate what they have learned during the week.
Atlanta Academy is located at 2000 Holcomb Woods Parkway, Roswell, GA 30076.
8:00am-3:00pm - $295/week
Half-day camps available 8:00am-12:00pm - $180/week
Sibling discount (10% off additional sibling registration for same week of camp) is applied at checkout. .
Campers are grouped by age (5-8 and 9-14 year olds) for age-appropriate activities and instruction by our Camp Leaders. NOTE: Age groupings may change slightly depending on the number of campers registered for each age group.
A minimum of six campers are required for each camp.
Campers should bring two snacks, lunch and a water bottle each day, and wear close-toed shoes.
2019 stem summer camp schedule at atlanta academy:
EARTH AND SPACE EXPLORATION - June 10-14 Ages 5-8 – Campers study rocks, minerals and fossils of Earth, learn about crystallization, and break open geodes. We also investigate space by exploring our solar system, building and launching paper rockets, conducting experiments using the sun’s rays, and more.
Ages 9-14 - Campers explore rocks, gems and fossils, learn how they formed and practice classifying them. To explore space campers learn how telescopes work, practice their flight skills with aerial drones, study constellations, planets, moons and comets, and make a scale model of our solar system. REGISTER
SCIENCE OF ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY – June 17-21 Ages 5-8 – This week we use Science, Technology, Math and Engineering to learn more about how artists create masterpieces, investigate how cameras work to capture images of light, use science and nature to create paintings using natural pigments, and make prints using the sun's rays. REGISTER
MARINE BIOLOGY– June 24-28 Ages 5-8 - Young campers explore the beach, ocean and creatures that live in the sea. We investigate how sand is made, experiment with water density, dissect a squid and other ocean creatures, make salt-water paintings, learn about fish and touch a shark.
Ages 9-14 - Campers discover what it is like to be a marine biologist as they experiment with buoyancy, learn about ocean currents and habitats, dissect different marine organisms, and investigate the physics of scuba diving.
BREAK IT AND MAKE IT - July 8-12 Ages 5-8 - Young campers learn how to use tools to take apart household electronics and explore what is inside, watch how 3D printers work, create art projects from upcycled materials, and make robots that scribble.
Ages 9-14 - Campers learn about creating models using molding polymers, have fun building circuits, use tools to take apart household electronics and battery-operated toys, upcycle the parts to make a new creation, and design and create mini-robots. REGISTER
MAD SCIENCE - July 15-19 Ages 5-8 - This week the young campers explore chemistry by creating potions that change color, fizz, bubble and smoke, learn about polymers with water beads and slime, make non-Newtonian fluids, and study the power of magnetism.
Ages 9-14 - We experiment with chemical reactions in camp this week. Campers create metal crystals, experiment with pH indicators to test acids and bases, design and conduct a scientific experiment to create the best slime (which is really all about chemistry!), investigate polymers, and more.
