Ages: 6-10 In this hands-on science course, students study characteristics of rocks, minerals and soils, learn about landforms and how they change over time, make models of our solar system and comets, learn how we study space, use a telescope to view sun spots, and more. Course fee: $240
September 5-January 9 (no class Oct 10, Nov 21, Dec 19, Dec 26; 15 weeks) Ages: 11+ Students learn the science of basic survival skills, and how to handle worst cases scenarios using principles of biology, ecology, chemistry and physics. Lessons include the chemistry of fire, orienteering and making a compass, plant identification, water purification, and more. We also investigate adaptations, such as camouflage and defense mechanisms, of other organisms that allow them survive in their environment.
